7 Asian Inspired Whole Grain Recipes

Since we entered the year of the Rooster last month, we’ve been feeling very Asian inspired in the kitchen. One of the best things about Asian recipes is that they often taste so fresh and can be quick to make, meaning you get a delicious meal in no time at all! Here are a few of our favourites for you to try…
First up we have our Chinese Beef Stir Fry with Wild Rice. This is a quick and tasty recipe that the whole family will enjoy, and at under 450 calories you don’t need to feel guilty after tucking in!
This veggie stir fry from The Simple Vegan blog is super simple to make, and is great because you are free to add as much extra flavour and spice as you like. We’d use rapeseed oil as the cooking oil for this recipe. To make this a more balanced meal, add some protein, such as tofu or soya beans.
Our zingy, fresh and low in fat spring rolls bring a real taste of Asia to your lunch. The whole wheat noodles combined with some tender chicken should help to keep you feeling satisfied. Delicious served with some sweet chilli dipping sauce!

You don’t have to serve your stir fry with rice or noodles – try quinoa instead, which is a source of protein. This recipe from BBC Good Food is full of colourful vegetables and served with a tangy lime and garlic sauce. For a more substantial meal, add some chicken or tofu.
The last of our Asian recipes is something a bit different: our Thai Turkey Burgers. An Asian twist on a classic dish. These burgers are low in saturated fat, but don’t skimp on flavour! Try serving them with a dollop of spicy mango chutney for an extra kick.
